I called to schedule our 3D/4D ultrasound today. I was hoping to make it next Tuesday... Sadly, it's not going to happen.
The only appointment they have open in the very near future are tomorrow morning or the 6th of December.
Unfortunately, Raiden has an appointment tomorrow at noon. The ultrasound place is 2 1/2 hours away, and there's no way we could get there, have the ultrasound and make it back in time.
Same for the 6th. I have an appointment in the morning, and I'm pretty sure Hubby is working. I don't drive in the city. I can, but I start to have panic attacks, so it's not a good thing, especially being pregnant.
So, I'll have to see how next month goes and call back after Thanksgiving.
I'm disappointed, but now that I think about it, I'm okay with it. I'll only be 16 weeks, and that's about the earliest you can determine gender on an ultrasound. She may not cooperate, and she may not even be developed down there enough to see anything. I really don't want to be told she's a girl, then find out later she's actually grown a penis...
I'll be 18 weeks at my next doctor appointment, and will have an ultrasound scheduled shortly after, so I'll probably just wait for that one and get the 3D thing done later. The price does go up after 24 weeks, but we'd be able to see the baby better after that.
We'll just have to see how things play out between now and then, I guess...

Maternity Clothes Woes
Why do maternity clothes have to cost so much?
Why am I so damned picky about them!?
I've spent the better part of my morning shopping at various places online for some more maternity clothes.
Right now, I have 25 weeks {more like 21-23} left of this pregnancy. I've been wearing my maternity pants since the beginning of September when I was only about 6 weeks along. Despite what some people will say, they actually are much more comfortable than trying to squeeze into already tight jeans while dealing with severe bloat and a growing belly.
But, I'm having a tough time finding clothes I actually like that don't cost a fortune. My usual go to shop is Motherhood Maternity, but, even there, I'm struggling. They usually have such cute stuff, at fairly decent prices.
Maybe it's a bad season to be shopping for clothes {I never was much of a fashion guru}, or maybe it's just my mood...
But, I kinda need some new shirts and possibly some pants that aren't jeans. I like to dress up and look "good" now and then, and some days, jeans just aren't it.
Oh well...
Guess I better just suck it up and do it while I still have money.

Burn, Baby, Burn!
I am now 15 weeks. My newest symptom: heart burn/acid reflux.
Yet another reason to believe we'll be buying pink!
With Kayt, I had such a hard time sleeping from the acid in my throat, and nothing seemed to work. I ate Tums like candy, and still not enough relief for it to matter.
25 weeks to go, and it's only going to get worse...
Any "miracle" cures from the Momma's out there?
And, here's the 15 week belly pic:

Welcome to the Second Trimester
Yep, I have officially hit the second trimester, the "fun" time of the pregnancy. Of course, there are still a few more weeks before we actually hit any fun.
My morning sickness is trying to diminish. Most foods still make me want to puke. Certain smell still send me running for the toilet. While I've been getting things done, I still feel exhausted.
In a few weeks, I will be far enough along to find out if we're having a girl or boy. I'm looking forward to that, but I'm still nervous. I keep thinking how it'll be if they try and tell me we're having a boy. It's a horrible thing to admit, but I will be disappointed. It will definitely take getting used to.
Anyway...
I'll have a new belly pic up next week, and they will get more frequent now that the baby will be growing faster and the belly will too.

Dream House
As much as I fought it, we looked at seven more houses yesterday. I'm actually glad we did. I think we found the perfect house. From the pictures online, it wasn't that spectacular, and I was reluctant to even drive by the house. But, the moment I stepped inside, I knew I wanted it to be mine.
It's in town, only a couple blocks away from Kayde's school, and close enough to the school next year that I won't have to fight with the district about the fact that she WILL attend the school in town.
It's a 4-bedroom, 2 bathroom. Beautiful carpeting. Beautiful front yard, and the perfect, private back yard for the kids. The kitchen is sort of small, but there's tons of storage space, and some room to expand. I'm sure it'll be perfect, though. The previous owners knocked out the garage and expanded the family room, turning the "upstairs" into a master suite. It's got a huge bedroom, two giant walk in closets, and a bathroom with a tub, and I believe a shower.
The greatest thing is it's stick built {no having to transfer our loan to another company and all that fun stuff} and even if we were to pay full price we can afford it.
I'm trying not to get too excited about it, though Hubby did call the realtor we're working with and told her that is the one we're very interested in putting an offer into.
I just hope that it's finally over. I'm tired of looking at houses {in the last three weeks, we've walked through close to 30!}, I'm tired of arguing over it. I just want to sign the papers and old the keys in my hand. I want to walk in the front door and be able to say "this is all mine!".

Quick Update
It's been some time since I've updated here... And, honestly, there's not much to report.
Went to our second doctor appointment this morning. I am 13 weeks. Heart rate is at 150, things are going well.
Morning sickness is still around, still taking it's toll on me. I'm hoping to be able to make the trip for a 3D ultrasound toward the end of this month. If not, it'll be right before Christmas that we get to see if we're having a girl or boy.

Oh, It's a Miracle!
The doctor gave me a prescription for Zofran at my appointment yesterday. It is a freaking miracle drug!! I got it filled this morning and it's been amazing so far.
Sure, now I'm even more exhausted, and my headache has become borderline migraine, but you have no idea how amazing it feels to finally be able to eat!
I went to lunch with a family friend this afternoon, and got to eat a small salad, half a BLT and some fries.
I have been craving salad for weeks now! It was so good.
